Veneers are wafer-thin pieces of dental porcelain that fit neatly over your existing teeth. This allows Dr. Newman to craft your dream smile and take care of the small imperfections that are preventing you from feeling confident. Gaps, discolouration, chips and crooked teeth can all be remedied using tooth veneers.

It all starts with a consultation. You will have the chance to talk about your goals and Dr. Newman will let you know what you can expect to achieve.

Could you be a candidate for teeth veneers?

Porcelain veneers aren’t for everyone, but they can help those with small imperfections to smile with a little more confidence. Every dental case is different, but in general, you will be a good candidate for porcelain veneers if you meet the following criteria:

  • Good oral hygiene
  • Sufficient enamel to support the veneers
  • No signs of gum disease
  • No bruxism or teeth grinding

Beautiful veneers in as little as one visit

With CEREC dental restorations, we can create your tooth veneers in our dental office. The thin veneer casing is carved from a block of dental ceramic using a specialist machine, so you can complete your restoration in one visit.

The porcelain veneer process

Learn how we place the veneers and what you can expect from teeth veneer treatment with Dr. Newman.

Depending on the type of restoration, your teeth veneers may be completed in one visit or up to three visits. If you opt for CEREC veneers, the restoration can be completed in one visit. For porcelain veneers, you will have to book a second appointment while we wait for the veneers to be created in a lab. Learn more about our CEREC dental restorations.

The first step is a consultation. We want you to feel in control of the treatment process, so it’s important that you understand what will happen at each step and what can realistically be achieved with veneers. Following a consultation with Dr. Newman, he will take impressions of your teeth so that the veneers achieve a perfect fit. This might be with moulding putty, or with digital scanning software.

Once the veneer is created, it’s time to bond it to your teeth. The anchor teeth will be prepared by removing a layer of the enamel to create a rough surface to bond with. Your teeth will be numbed throughout the treatment to make you more comfortable. Dr. Newman will then use a special dental cement to fix the veneer in place. This is a permanent bond.

Once your veneers are in place, Dr. Newman will check the fit to make sure you are comfortable. He will also often aftercare tips and advice to help you keep your veneers looking beautiful. Regular checkups and trips to the dental hygienist will help to keep your veneers healthy.
