New Patient Comprehensive Exam
We take a step back to see the patient as a whole
A new patient comprehensive exam allows us to get to know your concerns, your worries, and your expectations, so we can deliver the best possible dental care.

Why do we take the time to get to know our patients?

Dr. Newman believes that dental care is more effective when you treat the person as a whole. Instead of providing reactive treatment to problems, Dr. Newman helps you to identify risk and prevent issues before they arise. When patients trust their dentist, they can be open and honest about their concerns. And those with anxiety will find that visits become less daunting.
A comprehensive new patient exam will take around 30 minutes of your time and cover a lot of ground. We won’t start any treatment, but we will advise on the recommended next steps to get your oral health back on track.

In pain?
Don’t wait for a new patient comprehensive exam.
We offer emergency appointments so you can get help and relief fast. If you choose to continue treatment with us, we’ll invite you back for a new patient comprehensive exam.

Dental phobia and anxiety can take many forms. This is how we help you fight back.
Being scared of the dentist is a fairly common occurrence.
A single bad experience as a child or a painful memory can make it difficult to seek out treatment. We’re here to change that.
For nervous patients, the new patient comprehensive exam is the best way to help them back into the dentist’s chair. We understand that you may have missed checkups, avoided treatment or ignored problems for longer than ideal. We’re not here to judge you, we’re just here to help you get back on track.
During the new patient comprehensive exam, we’ll talk about your reasons for avoiding treatment. We’ll look at ways we can support you as you resume visits. If that means talking through the steps or getting things over with as quickly as possible, we’ll work to accommodate you. In some cases, a trip to the dental hygienist can help you to overcome your anxiety.
We’ll also make sure you fully understand your treatment options so you feel empowered to make your own choices. By offering a judgement-free environment where you feel confident asking questions, we aim to make a trip to the dentist relaxing and enjoyable. Patients of all ages can benefit from this relaxed and friendly approach to dentistry.
