The low-cost alternative to dental crowns

Dental bonding offers a low-cost alternative to dental crowns. If you’re worried about the cost of a root canal and crown treatment, dental bonding can offer a safe and durable alternative.

The tooth bonding process explained

Discover how Dr. Newman uses dental bonding to achieve incredible restorations in a short time…

The dental bonding procedure starts with a local anesthetic injection to numb the area. This will help to ensure your discomfort is minimal throughout the procedure. The site of the restoration will need to be prepared for the resin. The damaged tooth material will be removed to create a clean surface. The surface of your tooth may need to be shaped to make space for the resin.

The resin is a putty-like material that is applied directly to the tooth. The putty is gently maneuvered into shape and then a special light is used to harden the material. The resin or composite bonding material will be matched to your existing tooth colour to give a more natural-looking restoration.

Dental bonding is suitable for small cosmetic changes or restorations, but Dr. Newman may recommend a different treatment plan for some situations. To fix imperfections without orthodontics, a porcelain veneer might be more appropriate. For a root canal restoration, a dental crown would be more durable, but tooth bonding can help to control costs.
